                          TRACK CHAMP AMONG SUPER CHEVY RACE WINNERS
 Brown, Knight, Blackman Among Car Show Honorees at 
                          Rockingham Dragway
 
 ROCKINGHAM, N.C. – With a fiery backdrop provided by 
                          the Larsen Motorsports jet dragsters, former track 
                          champion and IHRA national event winner Chip Johnson 
                          of Fayetteville was among the on-track winners in the 
                          annual Super Chevy Show presented by Richmond County 
                          Tourism and contested Saturday and Sunday at 
                          Rockingham Dragway.
 
 Johnson drove his 1982 Camaro to victory over Joey 
                          Langley of Great Falls, S.C., in the Sunday Top ET 
                          final to join Tommy Bradshaw, Ben Roberts, Jamie 
                          Carroll, Ted Carter and Trey Sikes in the winners’ 
                          circle. Sikes was the event’s only double winner, 
                          sweeping both of the Trophy events and reaching the 
                          final round of Sunday’s D.O.T. race before losing to 
                          Carter.
 
 Meanwhile, Marine Corps veteran DeWayne Hill won the 
                          best of three jet dragster match race, upsetting boss, 
                          teammate and two-time IHRA jet champion Elaine Larsen 
                          in two straight races while reaching a finish line 
                          speed of almost 280 miles per hour in his “Dominator” 
                          jet.
 
 More than 60 exceptional vehicles were recognized in 
                          the car show with Gary Brown of Buford, Ga., one time 
                          owner of Atlanta Dragway, joining Brian Knight of 
                          Flowery Branch, Ga., and Durham’s Terri Blackman as 
                          Gold Cup winners, Brown for his 1956 Chevy, Knight for 
                          a ’66 Chevelle and Blackman for his classic ’67 Camaro.
